ACQUISITIONS ASSISTANT

Description

Infobase seeks an enthusiastic Acquisitions Assistant for our Films Media Group division. In this position, the Acquisitions Assistant supports the mission of the Acquisitions Department in bringing quality programs to the company. The Acquisitions Assistant reports to the Director of Acquisitions.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Review, capture, and enter contract information into company system
  • Analyze content data and create reports
  • Assist acquisitions staff with curriculum and market research
  • Assist with program processing related projects
  • Assist with content update for sales and marketing
  • Additional projects and duties, as required

Qualifications:

  • BA required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of/experience with contracts and media is a big plus

FULL STACK .NET DEVELOPER—New York, NY

Description

Infobase has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level .NET Web Developer.

Primary responsibilities include the development and ongoing maintenance for high availability web-based content delivery applications developed in .NET with a SQL back-end and multiple caching layers. Applications include stand-alone web services, online educational database products, streaming video platforms, eBook platforms, e-commerce websites, customer administrative applications, and media management systems. The developer will work on a variety of different projects and should be able to provide new ideas that work within our current systems.

The ideal candidate is flexible, patient, forward thinking, innovative, and results oriented, with a high attention to detail. The developer must be able to work well in a team environment and be able to communicate well with non-technical people inside and outside of Infobase.

Qualifications and experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 1–2+ years’ experience in planning, developing, testing, and delivering modern .NET web applications
  • Proficiency in C# and .NET Framework (ASP.NET MVC, Razor)
  • Proficiency in jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, Bootstrap, and CSS
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented principles and data structures
  • Solid understanding of relational database structure, design, and basic database integration principles
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • Strong front-end CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, and Bootstrap experience a big plus

PRODUCT SUPPORT MANAGER

Description

This position is responsible for leading the product support team to address technical issues experienced by customers across all Infobase digital products and using multiple communication channels—email, phone, and live chat. This position provides strategic leadership and direction for the delivery of pre- and post-sales services and support to clients/customers. You will manage all facets of customer retention (CRM) including participating in the resolution of customer concerns and defining and developing a customer contact strategy. You will also provide direct supervision to other support personnel in your group.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Resource Management:

  • Oversees full-time Product Support staff
  • Manages priorities for day-to-day tasks
  • Mentors the product support staff in best practices for customer service
  • Manages implementations of third-party discovery services

Customer Support:

  • Handles high-level product support for key customers
  • Handles non-standard authentication requests
  • Assists product support team and sales reps with answers to complex technical questions
  • Addresses and diffuses any customer complaints
  • Provides customer feedback about products to the appropriate departments
  • Works directly with customers to ensure seamless integration with various third-party discovery tools and SSO solutions

Sales Support:

  • Completes all customer documentation regarding data security
  • Works directly with sales managers to support RFP requests

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous eye for detail
  • Ability to make quick judgment calls and prioritize tasks under high pressure
  • Ability to understand and determine root cause and propose effective solutions
  • Background in customer service or technical support
  • At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
  • Working knowledge of help desk ticketing systems; intimate knowledge of Zendesk a big plus
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking/project management systems

This role will work with the editor-in-chief for reference databases and eBooks in the fields of career guidance and health for high school, college, and general readers.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Data curation in multiple content management systems
  • Testing and monitoring content on live sites and in eBooks
  • Online research
  • General editorial and administrative tasks, such as copyediting, proofreading, and HTML coding
  • Photo research as well as write captions, process image files, and manage image libraries

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have strong editing and writing skills and a proven ability to complete projects independently, within project guidelines, and on time

WORDPRESS DESIGNER/DEVELOPER

Description

Infobase is looking for highly motivated and skilled Designer to join our digital products team. The designer will work with product team to conceptualize, design, and maintain product interfaces and overall user experience for Infobase’s portfolio of web and software applications serving the education and library communities. The Designer will be responsible for design of the end-to-end user experience, including user workflows, layouts, photoshop mockups of specific screens and/or components.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage UX/UI best practices with all products
  • Code and implement WordPress sites from Photoshop layout through html/CSS to a custom theme, functions, and plugins
  • Design and implement new features, enhancements, and content of existing websites
  • Maintain and create detailed mockups of designs that can be used by the development team to code user facing functionality
  • Create wireframes and define user flows
  • Manage and support the creation of design assets for site development
  • Collaborate with the Product and Editorial team to establish visual design systems
  • Build consensus around strategic design choices through design reviews and presentations
  • Redesign and improve all product design

Requirements:

  • Experience in customizing and implementing WordPress
  • Strong knowledge of current web development languages (including HTML5, CSS3, PHP/MySQL)
  • Solid understanding of grid-based design, layout, typography, color and other design principles
  • A current portfolio demonstrating strong user interface and visual design work
  • Expertise with Photoshop, Fireworks, or similar tools
