Issues & Controversies Awarded ISTE 2015 Best of Show Award

Infobase is pleased to announce that its Issues & Controversies database has received Tech & Learning‘s ISTE 2015 Best of Show Award.

This is the second year that Tech & Learning has presented its prestigious awards program honoring great products at ISTE. Winners were selected by an anonymous panel of educator judges, who scoured the exhibit hall floor during the 2015 conference in Philadelphia. The judges rated their impressions on a sliding scale, evaluating areas such as quality and effectiveness, ease of use, and creative use of technology. They then met in person to decide which technologies would have the most impact in the classroom and deserved to be named Best of Show.

Heralded for its clear, objective exploration of hundreds of today’s crucial issues, Issues & Controversies features in-depth articles; thought-provoking, Oxford-style debate videos; original overview videos; interactive polls; printable handouts; discussion questions; current news articles; full coverage of each National High School Debate Topic; and a wealth of curriculum tools. Often used for 1:1 initiatives, flipped classrooms, blended learning, and project-based learning, the database is an ideal tool for analyzing issues, writing a research paper, and preparing for a debate.

This award is the latest in a series of wins for Issues & Controversies. The database is also an LMC/ARBA Best in Reference Award winner, a Library Journal Best Database, an SIIA CODiE Awards Finalist, and a winner of The ComputED Gazette‘s Education Software Review Award (EDDIES) and Best Educational Software Award (BESSIES).

The ISTE 2015 Best of Show Award winners will be featured in the August 2015 issue of Tech & Learning as well as in the digital version of the Best of Show Program Guide.
