New York, NY, February 1, 2022—Infobase Holdings, the award-winning provider of the Infobase Media Cloud and the Infobase Learning Cloud, is pleased to announce that The Mailbox® School & District is a winner in Tech & Learning’s Awards of Excellence: “Best of 2021” in the Primary Education category.

In this newly established Best of EdTech category, winners were recognized for their outstanding products that supported teaching and learning this past year no matter the learning environment, whether face-to-face, remote, or anything in between. A panel of educators evaluated the nominations based on a set of criteria that included: the product’s ability to support different learning environments and student needs; value; versatility; and ease of use.

“2021 was another challenging year for schools, so it was inspiring to see both educators and the industry continue to come up with new solutions to support teaching and learning,” remarked Tech & Learning Content Director Christine Weiser. “Our judges were impressed with the creativity presented by our Best of 2021 nominees, many of whom found new and innovative ways to use technology to ensure students continue to get an equitable education in any learning environment.”

Packed with more than 52,000 fun and engaging ideas, activities, and worksheets that help inspire imaginations while teaching essential skills, The Mailbox® School & District provides classroom tips and tools to help educators build practical skills in the all-important area of successful classroom management. All content is carefully planned and edited by Infobase’s in-house team of editors with backgrounds in teaching who are experienced at assessing what educators will find valuable and worth incorporating into lessons. The platform is search-based for fast and easy access to materials. Lessons and ideas are categorized in all the ways teachers teach, including grade level, curriculum area, and type (worksheet, craft, game, etc.). All of the activities and ideas in The Mailbox® School & District are educationally sound, practical, easy to use, error-free, and child-centered.

One of the key factors in selecting award recipients was evaluating how well the product addressed the unique challenges facing education today. The Mailbox® School & District is ideally structured to address today’s educational challenges and learning environments. It regularly features SEL activities, covering topics of self-management, self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Within these topics, our grade-appropriate activities cover such important skills as identifying emotions, recognizing strengths, stress management, self-motivation, goal-setting, appreciating diversity, empathy, and teamwork. In addition, we strive to show a range of children, adults, ethnicities, religions, and abilities in our imagery to represent the diverse classrooms that we serve. In addition, much of our content features activities that do not require expensive, hard-to-find materials for those teachers at schools with limited budgets or for parents who are conducting activities at home.

“The mission of The Mailbox® has always been to help teachers be more efficient in the classroom,” commented Sharon Tresino, Director of Editorial at The Mailbox®. “So we are honored that Tech & Learning recognized our preschool to 6th grade platform The Mailbox® School & District as a winner.”

While the “Best of 2021” is a new offering in the Awards of Excellence program, Infobase products are no stranger to Tech & Learning awards: Learn360 previously won five awards from the influential EdTech publication, and Issues & Controversies and Source Reference were also past Tech & Learning award winners.
