The World Almanac® for Kids: New Topic Area—Forms of Government

A new Forms of Government topic area has been added to The World Almanac® for Kids, exploring the different comparative forms of government that exist in the world today. Key areas covered include milestones in the evolution of government, the development of communism, democracy, dictatorships, fascism, monarchies, and oligarchies.

The accessible articles are enhanced with four-color photographs; relevant videos; Fun Facts such as “Divine Rule,” “Feudalism,” and “The Meaning of the Magna Carta”; and bullet biographies of key people such as Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Fidel Castro, Confucius, Thomas Jefferson, Queen Elizabeth II, Mikhail Gorbachev, Nelson Mandela, Kim Jong-il, and more. Each unit concludes with its own unique chronology and glossary.
