The World Almanac® for Kids Online: Exciting New Interactive Content and More

We’re pleased to announce an exciting update to The World Almanac® for Kids Online—a brand-new Interactives section with new interactive quizzes and worksheets, plus convenient new navigation options, new video content, and additional lesson plans!

NEW INTERACTIVES SECTION

The World Almanac® for Kids Online‘s new Interactives section is accessible from the Resources menu at the top of each page. Kids will find dozens of engaging new interactive quizzes and worksheets—all of them compatible with mobile devices and a wonderful way to get much-needed instructional practice in an interactive format. All of the crossword puzzles and word searches in the database are now conveniently located in this new section as well.

The interactive quizzes, all exclusive to The World Almanac® for Kids Online, include more than 20 multiple-choice “Test Your Knowledge” quizzes, a fun way for students to practice what they’ve learned in six core areas: American History, U.S. Government, Our Planet Earth, Human Body, Plants, and Ancient Civilizations. (More will be added soon!) Students can take these quizzes again and again to reinforce the subject matter and identify any areas that need more practice.

To reinforce the content and vocabulary taught in class, students can use the more than 40 new interactive worksheets that were specially created to support the STEM content in this database. Topics include Animals, Human Body, Our Planet Earth, Plants, and Space & Astronomy. Students can use the drag-and-drop functionality to label diagrams, match words, and fill in the blanks.

ALSO NEW!

New Navigation: The World Almanac® for Kids Online has had so much great new content added recently, and the new navigation options at the top of the database give users easy and direct access to all of it!

New Video Content: New videos have been added to support the content in areas such as Our Planet Earth, Energy Today, U.S. Government, Homework Help, and Human Body. Another great way to reinforce learning of these topics!

More Lesson Plans: Last March, we added useful Lesson Plans to the Teacher Support section. Now teachers have even more to choose from! New lesson-specific handouts and creative learning activities have been added on topics such as Canadian Provinces, Ancient Civilizations, The Five Senses, and more.
