American History Online and Middle/High School eBook Collection Win 2015 EDDIE Award

Infobase is delighted to announce that two of its products have been selected as winners of The ComputED Gazette‘s 20th Annual Education Software Review Awards (EDDIES):  American History Online in the “High School American History Database” category, and its Middle/High School eBook Collection in the “Multi-Level Online eBook Collection” category.

The renowned EDDIE awards program targets “innovative and content-rich programs (including apps for iPad and Android) and websites that augment the classroom curriculum and improve teacher productivity, providing parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence.” Award winners are chosen annually and selected from titles submitted by publishers worldwide. The ComputED Gazette has previously awarded EDDIES to Infobase products including Issues & Controversies, Bloom’s LiteratureThe World Almanac® for Kids OnlineToday’s ScienceGreat Empires of the Past Online, and Issues & Controversies in American History.

The recently relaunched American History Online database offers a virtual library of American history for educators, students, and researchers of all ages. Its expansive coverage is presented in engaging formats such as subject entries and biographies, images, tablet/mobile-friendly videos and slideshows, primary sources, timelines, maps and graphs, and focused Topic Centers that provide a study guide for a particular era or subject with specially selected content.

Infobase’s Middle/High School eBook Collection offers convenient access to the texts of thousands of acclaimed eBooks from the award-winning Facts On File, Chelsea House, Ferguson’s, and Bloom’s imprints. In its award announcement, The ComputED Gazette called Infobase’s Middle/High School eBook Collection “refreshing” and “extensive,” adding that it “deserves a place in every school library.”
