SUPPORTERS ARGUE
The United States must intervene in Syria to prevent further casualties and keep the Syrian government from killing its own people. By establishing a meaningful presence in Syria, the United States can minimize human suffering and help resolve the conflict.
OPPONENTS ARGUE
U.S. military force will not end the fighting in Syria. Such intervention will only drag the United States into another open-ended conflict in which there is no positive outcome, and would likely do little to mitigate the suffering in the country or resolve the crisis.
