New Math Content Added to The World Almanac® for Kids Elementary

The World Almanac® for Kids Elementary now has two new mathematics topic areas to help elementary-level students improve their subtraction and multiplication skills. Both Math: Subtraction and Math: Multiplication include full four-color images and diagrams and are supplemented with Fun Facts articles (such as “A Symbol Secret”), editorially selected videos, and games and puzzles that reinforce lesson concepts.

Sections of the new Math: Subtraction topic area include:

  • Understanding Subtraction, covering “What Is Subtraction?”, “Why Subtraction Is Important,” and “Subtraction Terms, Symbols, and More”
  • Subtracting within 20, including “Models for Subtracting within 20,” “Strategies for Subtracting within 20,” and “Fact Families”
  • Subtracting within 100, covering “Models for Subtracting within 100,” “Strategies for Subtracting within 100,” and “Subtraction Algorithms”
  • Subtracting Larger Numbers, including “Models for Subtracting Larger Numbers,” “Strategies for Subtracting Larger Numbers,” and “Subtraction Algorithms”
  • More About Subtraction, covering “Identity Property of Subtraction” and “Checking Subtraction with Addition”
