Learn How Notable Filmmakers Became Iconic

April 21, 2022
Becoming Iconic, available through Films On Demand and Access Video On Demand

Available to colleges and universities through Films On Demand and to public libraries through Access Video On Demand, Becoming Iconic explores the process of directing a big-budget feature from the ground up through the eyes of top directors, who share their personal stories. Directed by Neal Thibedeau, the documentary was created in tandem with Jonathan Baker’s production of his own directorial debut and features some of the industry’s most iconic filmmakers, including Jodie Foster, Nicholas Cage, Warren Beatty, Taylor Hackford, Adrian Lyne, and John Badham.

With Becoming Iconic, Jonathan Baker hopes to inspire aspiring directors, producers, and actors on college campuses looking to learn the ropes of building a career in the film industry. Baker states, “The documentary chronicles the first-time stories of celebrated directors, combined with my dream of making it big in Hollywood and touches on topics ranging from the pressures of financing and working with top talent to the ultimate challenge of making sure to stay true to a film’s vision.”

Becoming Iconic aims to showcase success to those who are dedicated to their passion and also be a tool to start a conversation for those in college, film school, high schools, and anyone who wants to be in the film industry.
